The reasons why the live-action of 'Mulan' won't be for the whole family

The next Disney live-action will be innovative in regards to the company, since it has been classified as PG-13, marking the first time that one of the remakes of the studio will not be suitable for children, but why 'Mulan 'won't it be for the whole family?

The fact may surprise fans of the 1998 animated original, but first impressions of the new film suggest that Disney has a different direction in mind.

In each trailer we've seen so far, this new Mulan has distinguished itself from the original, the animated classic was an adventure full of fun and original songs sung by the characters.

The animated film also featured secondary characters that were placed in the public's taste, such as Mushu, the dragon that had the voice of Eddie Murphy.

Why 'Mulan' will not be for the whole family? The first images of the new film promise a darker and harder version of the war. There will be no singing, so the public must expect that there are vast battle scenes and intense martial arts fights when the heroine takes her father's place in the fight to protect China.
One thing is for sure, Mulan is not going to contain himself in violence, which is welcome for fans who want to see heroin fighting as the warrior she is.

Could a 'Mulan' with PG-13 rating suggest that Disney is no longer afraid of taking risks with its beautiful classics? Although it still depends on the film's blockbuster success, the decision to do something new with the property is a promising signal for the new wave of Disney remakes including the live-action of 'The Little Mermaid'.
